Hanna Barbera and Her Sisters

Hanna Barbera, Roseanne Rosannadana Barbera, Banana Bandana Barbera, Me Mi Mo Manna Barbera, Barbarella Barbera, Barber of Seville Barbera, Bam Margera Barbera, Chita Rivera Barbera, and a cast of thousands star as the legendary animation studio that brought you such timeless classics as Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, and QuickDraw McGraw. We’ll discover the failed projects as well, including Doo Dee the Colostomy Bag, Tyrone the Trash Panda, and Pancho the Mexican Jumping Bean. Other failed projects included Gash the Gaping Head-wound, Betty Blobfish and Windy the Egg Fart.  Several other failed projects were also researched for the retrospective, including Tennessee Pete and his Talking Sheet,  Andy the Amputated Anus and Crappy the Toilet Brush. Rare clips of the Barberas in Barbados, Bermuda and Bali on vacation, at nudist colonies and Key parties, show a softer side of the family at play. We also meet some of the actual people who inspired the characters the studio animated. Who knew Grape Ape was inspired by the 400 pound wino who sat outside the studio for years and shared laughs and smiles with the staff on a daily basis. Or that Jabberjaw was inspired by a woman in the mailroom whose teeth were so   akimbo that she could bite her finger and toe nails at the same time. The classic toon Wacky Racers was inspired by a Trader Joe’s parking lot, with Muttley modeled after an asthmatic afghan hound that belonged to Hanna’s brother Conan Barbera - Ian, who had married his lover of 3 years, Ian the Liberal Libra Librarian. As was customary in the Barbera clan Conan took his husband’s first name and hyphen.
