Not His Best Pitch

After blowing the final games of the World Series, Eddie Branson’s pitching career is at a crossroads. He’s 37, has declining velocity, and an increase in fly ball rate – all of which spells trouble for a pitcher whose reputation with fans and the press can be described as ‘prickly’ at best. If he wants to latch on to a new club in spring training, he’ll have to make some changes. When his gold digging wife leaves him, he’ll return to the small town he grew up in to try and find the answers he needs to prolong his career. Hiring his foul-mouthed nephew and a nappy dugout baseball rat, Eddie will need to rebuild his pitch arsenal and his approach to interviews and fan interactions…Look, is this just a dressed up Bull Durham that’s a little raunchier? Maybe. Did this pitch make it past quality control because we’ve spent days glued to election coverage? Almost certainly.
